Yaris: lens replacement
A Yaris that lives on the street ages its headlight covers quickly. Once the haze has gone deep into the plastic or a crack has appeared, a fresh cover goes onto the Yaris's own housing and is sealed down.
Earlier Yaris models often have halogen headlights, where a new unit is usually the better buy. The photo shows which kind you have.
C-HR: LED units and running lights
The C-HR has an LED headlight with a running light built in. An LED segment left dark, or a running light that has lost its brightness, points to a board or driver, which is replaced inside the unit without changing the rest.
LED boards and running lights are tested on the bench before return. Only the LED dipped beam has to wait, because it needs the C-HR's own control system before it will switch on.
Auris, RAV4 and the rest of the range
- Auris: the same lens and damp repairs as the Corolla that replaced it.
- RAV4: condensation resealed, LED boards renewed, covers replaced.
- Xenon units on older models: new ballast or igniter when the beam fails.
- Snapped mounting tabs: a repair kit or a new rear housing.

Does a hybrid Toyota need anything different?
No. The headlight is a separate unit from the hybrid system, and it is removed and repaired the same way as on a petrol car.
Can the running light on my Toyota be repaired on its own?
Where it is an LED strip or board inside the headlight, yes. If your model uses a bulb for it, a new bulb is all it needs.
