Headlight Repair for the Motor Trade

Headlight repair for the motor trade works like this: the unit comes off the vehicle in your workshop, travels to ours within the UK and returns with the failed part renewed. It suits any trade business where a new headlight would swallow the margin on a job or keep a vehicle parked. Each repair starts with photos and a written quote.

Terms for regular work are discussed when you ask for a trade quote.

What we repair for the trade

Most xenon and LED front headlights can be put right inside the original housing:

  • Daytime running lights gone yellow or dark: the LED strip is renewed, not the whole module.
  • Cracked, crazed or deeply scratched covers: a new lens is bonded and sealed to the housing.
  • Housings split in a knock: projectors, boards and trims move across to a new housing.
  • Water behind the lens: the lens comes off and the unit is sealed again.
  • Burnt-out LED boards, xenon ballasts and igniters: swapped for new parts.
  • Matrix and laser units: the failed module is exchanged and the rest of the headlight stays.

Halogen headlights seldom justify the labour, as a new one costs little. Rear lights and motorbike headlights are outside what we take on.

Who we work with in the motor trade

Garages and MOT testing stations

Headlamp faults recorded at the test, put right on the customer's own unit.

Bodyshops and accident repair centres

Front-end damage: new housing, new lens, internals saved.

Car dealers and motor traders

Trade-ins with misted lenses or dark running lights, made ready to sell.

Fleets, vans and lorries

Vehicles back to work without waiting for a new unit.

Collection from your premises

Whether a unit is picked up from your site or sent by courier is arranged with your quote. Either way it travels within the UK, with no customs paperwork.

Your technicians keep the removal and refit, so the vehicle never leaves your hands.

Turnaround you can plan around

The time for each unit is confirmed in your quote. A resealed lens needs its sealant fully cured before it can travel, which rules out same-day returns.

Every LED board is powered on a test rig before the unit is closed. Dipped-beam modules are the exception: they only switch on with the car's own electronics, so their final check happens after refitting.

Invoicing and trade terms

How each repair is billed to your business is set out in your quote. The figure on your own customer's invoice is yours to decide.

The full sequence, from photo to return, is on How Our Headlight Repair Works.

Questions from the motor trade

Do you refit the headlight to the vehicle?

No. Removal, refitting and the beam aim check stay with your technicians, and we repair the unit itself.

Can you tell from a photo whether a unit is worth repairing?

Usually, yes. A clear photo with the make, model and year is enough, and for an electrical fault a picture or short clip with the light switched on helps.

What if something else turns up once the unit is open?

You hear about it before any extra work is done. If you decide not to go ahead, the headlight is returned to you.
