Mazda CX-5 Headlight Repair
Mazda CX-5 headlight repair is about keeping an expensive LED unit on the car instead of replacing it. A cover that has crazed or cracked gets a new lens, and a dark LED segment or daytime light gets a new board, all within the original housing.
A new lens for a CX-5 headlight
The CX-5 sits higher than a hatchback, but its covers still collect chips from lorries ahead on the motorway. Over time the surface dulls and a chip can grow into a crack.
The damaged cover is released from the housing, the old bead of adhesive is scraped away and the new cover is glued down. Nothing behind it is moved, so the beam is aimed as before.

Most CX-5s have LED headlights, and some later cars have adaptive units that switch off parts of the main beam for oncoming traffic. When a section stays dark or flickers, the cause is normally a board or the driver that feeds it.

Damp and peeling chrome
If water has been inside for a while, the chrome trim behind the lens can start to lift. It is re-coated while the cover is off, and the unit is resealed so the moisture has no way back in.

Not always. Dealers usually supply complete units, but a cracked lens or a single failed board can be dealt with on its own. Photos are enough to check.
