Audi A6 Headlight Repair
Audi A6 headlight repair is about saving an expensive xenon or LED unit by renewing the one part that has let it down. That may be a lens, a seal, a running light or an electronic module. The damaged lens is separated from the housing, the old bead of sealant is cleared out and a new lens goes on. Projectors and LED boards stay put, so the beam is produced by the same parts as before.

Water in the headlight and the reseal
Droplets that never clear tell you the seal between lens and housing has given way. Opening the unit, cleaning the joint and resealing it is what deals with the cause of the water.
If the damp has been there long enough to strip the chrome finish from a reflector, that part can be re-chromed in the same visit.
Running lights and Matrix units on the A6
A discoloured or dead running light usually comes down to a light guide scorched by the LEDs behind it, or a board that has failed. Either is renewed inside your unit; more on that under LED Headlight Repair.
Matrix LED headlights are handled differently. A faulty Matrix module cannot be repaired, so the module itself is replaced inside the headlight and the rest of the unit is kept.

Do I need to tell you which A6 generation I have?
The year of registration and a photo of the headlight are enough. A shot of the label on the back of the housing helps if you can reach it.
What happens if more is wrong once the unit is opened?
You are told what was found and what it would take. If you decline, the headlight is returned to you.
Can an A6 headlight be repaired after a front-end knock?
Often, yes. A split housing is replaced and everything inside is transferred to the new one, along with a new lens if needed.
