## Range Rover Sport: lenses and misting

The Sport's large headlight covers pick up chips and haze on long motorway runs. When one is cracked or too dull to see through properly, a replacement lens is fixed to the Sport's original housing.

Condensation that hangs around inside a Range Rover unit is dealt with by lifting the cover, cleaning out the old sealant and resealing it. Both jobs can be done in one go.

## Evoque and Discovery Sport: LED faults

Both are common on British driveways and both offer LED headlights. An LED block that has died or a running light that stutters is usually down to a single board or its driver, which is replaced inside the unit.

Units with adaptive lighting that report a fault have the relevant module swapped, rather than the whole headlight being replaced.

## Older Land Rovers with xenon lights

- Dipped beam out on a xenon unit: new ballast or igniter fitted.
- Chrome peeling from a reflector after water got in: re-coated with the lens off.
- Fixing lug snapped off a Discovery or Freelander unit: tab kit or new rear housing.

### Can a Defender headlight be repaired?

The current Defender's LED units can be, if the fault is a board, a running light or the lens. Classic Defenders use simple sealed lamps that are cheaper to replace.

### My Range Rover Sport unit has water in it and a cracked lens. Is that two jobs?

It is handled in one visit. With the old lens off, the inside is dried and the joint resealed before the new cover goes on.
